Hakimi and Bounou, records and decisive in the 2025 Club World Cup
The group stage competitions of the 2025 Club World Cup, currently underway in the United States of America and continuing until July 13, are witnessing a remarkable performance from the two Moroccan stars who stole the show with their striking levels of play and their records.
Hakimi continues to deliver an exceptional season, having scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists with his club in the various competitions during the 2024/2025 season, the last against Inter Miami. He thus becomes the most decisive defender (goals + assists) among the players of the five major European championships this season.
For his part, the Moroccan Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper of Al-Hilal Saudi, shone and won the prize for the best player of the match after his decisive saves which led his team to a draw (0-0) against the Austrian Red Bull Salzburg.
Which confirms the exceptional level of the two stars, even if the tournament took place in a torrid summer in the United States at the end of the season – particularly for Hakimi who had two consecutive seasons without rest – highlighting his high physical and technical abilities. This places him as the leading candidate for the global and African Ballon d’Or [sic] this year.
