Hakimi makes history and offers PSG their first European trophy in a historic final against Inter Milan (5-0)
Munich, Allianz Arena – Saturday May 31, 2025
The pages of the history of European and French football were turned on Saturday evening in Munich. PSG won their first ever Champions League title, thanks to an incredible performance from Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi, beating them 5-0 in the final. This incredible feat puts an end to 32 years of drought for France in continental competitions.
Hakimi, the spark and the symbol:
From the first moments, the Lion of the Atlas commanded the pace. He justified his fame with a breathtaking goal just before half-time (45′ + 1), hammering the Milan defense with a precise ricochet strike to open the scoring and begin the Parisian showcase. Speaking of which, it was just the beginning of a night where Hakimi etched his name in history in many ways:
He becomes the first Moroccan in the world, indeed in the history of football, to lift the « Coupé aux Grandes Oreilles » while being an active member and scores a goal in the final match.
The Moroccan Lion’s run in the Champions League this season is remarkable: 4 goals and 5 assists in 13 matches. His 9 direct contributions (goals and assists) make him a key player.
