
“Marrakech: Scientific conference on the new features of the Code of Criminal Procedure 03.23 and the modernization of justice”
B – A substantial amendments made by this new text and their repercussions on judicial practices as well as on the quality of judicial performance.
The work of the conference was chaired by Mr. Mohamed Dahane, President of the Court of First Instance of Marrakech, and by Mr. Khalid Rkik, King’s Prosecutor at the same court, in the presence of magistrates of the public prosecutor’s office, judges of the seat and registry executives.
This diversity of participants reflects the court’s desire to strengthen institutional openness and encourage the exchange of experiences between the different legal actors.
During this scientific meeting, the speakers addressed several essential areas linked to the new features introduced by Law 03.23 relating to the Code of Criminal Procedure, in particular the improvement of preliminary investigation procedures, the broadening of the legal guarantees granted to the parties, the consolidation of the principles of fair trial, in addition to the examination of the practical challenges that could establish the new provisions within the courts.
The conference also constituted an opportunity to highlight the central role of the judiciary in the implementation of these reforms on the ground, through the modernization of working methods, the strengthening of the efficiency of procedures and the pursuit of continuing training.
The various sessions were marked by rich discussions and a broad exchange between the participants, reflecting a common desire to elevate the judicial system in harmony with the expectations of citizens
