The Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Ain Chock, in the economic capital of the Kingdom, hosted a distinguished academic meeting

Professor Mohammed El Hayani presented a rich and intellectual presentation on a subject rarely discussed in depth: “The historical Moroccanness of the Sahara through trade, banks and currency symbols. This presentation revealed a coherent scientific vision, rereading the history of the Moroccan Sahara far from passionate speeches, relying on a methodology based on history, economics and monetary documents. centuries, The caravan route linking Souss, Fez and Timbuktu, the circuits of commercial exchange and the networks of economic influence are all elements which have formed a deep economic unity between the Sahara and the rest of the regions of Morocco,

The speaker specified that old monetary symbols, commercial documents and coins dating from various eras offer tangible proof of Moroccan sovereignty in Sahara, The region has in fact experienced the circulation of official Moroccan currencies and was administratively and economically dependent on the decision-making centers of the North.
