Casablanca: Opening of a 5-star Barcelo

Opened on November 26, 2018, the Barceló Anfa Casablanca hotel received on Thursday April 11 for its “Grand Opening” more than 300 guests, professional tourism associations, professionals in the tourism and business travel sector, event agencies, clients, press and opinion makers.

Welcomed by Mr. José Canals, EMEA regional director of Barcelo Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Jalil Benabbés-Taarji, Administrator & General Manager of the Tikida group, majority shareholder with Barceló and the brand’s CEO in Morocco, Mr. Enrique Acrich Ecker, accompanied by the entire hotel team, the guests discovered throughout the evening, the elegant and modern styles of this new 5* brand through different spaces revealed during the cocktail dinner in an artistic atmosphere directly from Spain.

The hotel is the fifth and first 5-star hotel opened in the Kingdom by Barceló Hotel Group since its establishment in Morocco in 2006, an expansion that it is accelerating with the acquisition of its latest unit to date providing the ocher city with its first Barceló Palmeraie*Marrakech, now bringing the number of hotels of the chain in Morocco to 6, and its capacity to 1,136 rooms, between Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Agadir and Marrakech.

Located at the crossroads of the city center and Anfa Boulevard, the Barceló Anfa* Casablanca is designed with a tasteful contemporary Art Deco style. The address pays homage to the architectural heritage of Casablanca and brings a new breath of modernity to this economic and tourist hub of the city.

The guests were also amazed by the new design which takes full advantage of the volume of the existing building and opens the facade onto the lively boulevard, all designed by the architecture studio Patrick Genard & Associés Barcelona.

Designed for business and leisure guests with 206 rooms including 14 suites, 7 meeting rooms, a large modular room with a capacity of 450 people, business corners, a large terrace (Aquamarine) with swimming pool that can also accommodate cocktails or others, a 450 m² spa with 5 cabins and hammam, the hotel offers so many possibilities for residents and partners of the hotel. 
The Acajou restaurant with Moroccan and international tastes and a finely designed lobby bar with welcoming and generous spaces and colors complete the offer for resident customers or visitors.
