A Qatari foundation invests 4 billion dirhams in the Marrakech-Safi region
A giant step forward for the region. The launch of major development projects initiated by the “Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation” was given on Monday, May 8, in several prefectures and villages in the Marrakech-Safi region.
A total of 4 billion dirhams was invested in various social and educational projects aimed at improving the lives of residents in the region. Marrakech will benefit, in this context, from a qualification center for people with disabilities. A hemodialysis center will also be built in the ocher city, as well as in El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Al Haouz, Youssoufia, and Safi. The latter will also have the right to a public hospital, just like the village of Sidi Youssef Ben Ali. Essaouira, for its part, will be able to benefit from a new university center, compliant with international standards.
These development projects, which will be carried out over five years, will concretize the terms of the agreement signed between the Regional Council and this Foundation. The kick-off ceremony was marked by the presence of the Chairman of the Board of the Qatari Foundation, Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al-Thani, the President of the Marrakech-Safi region, Ahmed Akhchichine, and the wali of the region, Abdelfettah Labjioui.
Speaking on this occasion, Ahmed Akhchichine underlined the importance of this event, believing that it reflects the excellence of the fraternal relations uniting Morocco and Qatar, as well as the great efforts made by the two heads of state to strengthen cooperation and solidarity between the two brotherly countries.
