The members of the National Confederation of Tourism elected, by a majority of votes, i.e. 225 votes out of a total of 257, Abdellatif Kabbaj, President of the CNT and Fouzi Zemrani, Deputy Vice President, for the period from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2017.
Accompanied by tour operator Fouzi Zemerani, vice president, A. Kabbaj, veteran in the national hotel industry and president of the Kenzi Hotels group, intends to get involved in the 2020 vision of Tourism which aims to increase the number of arrivals at Moroccan borders (tourists and Moroccan workers abroad) from 10 to 20 million between 2010 and 2020.
Our proposed mandate is structured around three strategic axes, the new president told the press, just after his election:
– First, we intend to implement the commitments made by the private sector as part of the Vision 2020 program contract, in particular the co-piloting of Vision 2020 with the establishment of the planned governance bodies, namely the High Tourism Authority and the Azur 2020 committee.
The installation and support of Regional Tourism Federations which are essential bodies for the implementation of regional program contracts.
The restructuring and support of trade federations is also on the agenda, particularly in the current draft laws planned as part of the modernization and excellence of services.
– Then, we wish to improve the competitiveness of national companies by implementing the connectivity of tourism professions, the integration of the informal sector, the development of their digital presence through a web 3.0 strategy and the attractiveness of the Morocco destination based on a diversified and quality offer whose objective will be to bring out Moroccan brands.
– And finally, we intend to produce services for the members of the CNT by carrying out studies for the benefit of professionals, by allowing the Tourism Observatory to deliver statistics and performance indicators with the aim of attracting investors and finally by facilitating access to the support mechanisms for SMEs set up within the framework of the Public Private Partnership, Moussanada Siyahia and the Guarantee Fund.
Another important point, we also propose the establishment of a Tourism Advisory Council on which personalities contributing or having contributed to the development of Tourism would sit. This council will meet every quarter at the invitation of the President in order to support the CNT in all major social, economic or environmental discussions.
