The Republic of Gambia reaffirmed today, Wednesday in Rabat, its constant and firm position in favor of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its Southern Provinces, through the voice of its Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Sérigné Modou Njie
During a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the Gambian official stressed that Banjul “warmly appreciates” the recently adopted Security Council Resolution 2797, which reaffirms the serious and credible nature of the autonomy initiative as the only solution to resolve the Regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara reiterated his country’s unconditional support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative, describing it as « the only realistic and lasting solution » to end this artificial conflict, emphasizing The Gambia’s commitment to continuing to support Morocco within regional and international organizations.
