The Accor group enriches the hotel offer in Al-Hoceima

Quemado_Al-HoceimaAfter the opening last June, in Nador, of a first tourist complex under the Mercure brand, the Accor group, in partnership with the CDG, is reshaping the tourist offer in the North with the inauguration planned for this July of a second site, the Mercure Quemado Al-Hoceima Resort.

“Through the opening of Mercure Quemado Al Hoceima, the Accor Group, in partnership with the Caisse de dépôt et de gestion (CDG), aims to reshape the attractiveness of destinations in the North of the Kingdom, by marketing a tourist offer based on the region’s potential and on the different customer segments,” Thierry Delahaye, director of operations in North Africa for Mid-Gram and Economic Hotels at the Accor group, Thierry Delahaye, told MAP on the sidelines. a press trip organized by CDG to the region to promote its tourism offering and learn about the Group’s tourism investments in the region.

He further stressed that this tourist complex located on the bay of Al Hoceima integrates harmoniously into its environment through sustainable architecture which respects and enhances the site as well as its tourist surroundings.

Regarding the region’s infrastructure, Mr. Delahaye stressed that the latter must be continually worked on, in particular through the strengthening and development of airlines likely to facilitate access for visitors to the various destinations located in the north of the Kingdom.

“The development of infrastructure constitutes an eternal challenge that must always be met,” said Mr. Delahaye, adding that the frequency of air travel in the region constitutes a particularly important axis for increasing the accessibility of tourists to the various tourist destinations located in the north of the Kingdom.

The official also pleaded for the diversification of the tourist offer in the region, so as to guarantee products that are as attractive as they are complementary for the benefit of national and international tourists looking for an exemplary seaside resort.

“Visitors to Al-Hoceima must be able to enjoy several activities outside the hotel, including organizing visits to historical monuments, taking cruises, tasting the culinary flavors of the region and practicing water sports, to guarantee a complementary and attractive seaside center,” noted the representative of the Hotel Group.

Mr. Delahaye expressed the need to strengthen the hotel platform in the region, in particular through competing hotels which could market a tourist offer, creating a snowball effect in favor of the revitalization of the sector.

He, among other things, stressed that the Group is sparing no effort to develop its hotel activities in different corners of the Kingdom, specifying that several projects are currently being studied.

He also indicated that the presence, in Morocco, of the Accor hotel network deserves to be perpetually and continually readjusted, with emphasis on a set of criteria required for the realization of future partnerships.

For his part, the director of operations at the Compagnie Générale Immobilier (CGI), a subsidiary of CDG Développement, Othmane Hannaoui, indicated that the CDG, through the Quemado Al Hoceima resort, is continuing its proactive policy aimed at revitalizing the tourist offer in the Northern region, by opening up the city of Al Hoceima which remains less accessible for national and international tourists. Othmane Hannaoui also underlined that this tourist platform follows the pace of tourism development in the region and therefore contributes to its economic growth.

The head of the CGI also welcomed the Mediterranean ring road which facilitates the connection between the different localities in the region, strengthening the tourist attractiveness of northern destinations while consolidating an important economic and tourist synergy on a regional scale.

A global group and leader in the hotel industry, the Accor Group aims to confirm its leading position in Morocco with a portfolio of 50 hotels by 2018 compared to 34 hotels at the end of June 2014.

It continues and succeeds in its development thanks to an intelligent product mix between economical, medium, high-end and the business and leisure segments.
