The historic sites of Salé visited by a delegation from UN Agencies
A delegation of United Nations agencies and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco visited, on Saturday, several historical sites in the city of Salé.
The delegation, composed in particular of the ambassadors of Panama, Portugal and Peru, and representatives of several UN bodies and agencies, originating from Belgium, Egypt, Canada and France in particular, visited the tourist and historical sites of Bab Mrissa, Bab Chaâfa, Bab Maâlka, Bab Bouhaja, the Mellah district, the Marinid Madrasa museum, Borj Dmouaa and Dar el Cadi.
The representative of UN-Habitat in Morocco, Moncef Fadili, told MAP that this visit aims to raise awareness of the city of Salé in cultural and tourist terms among diplomats stationed in Morocco.
For his part, the Portuguese ambassador indicated that this visit allowed diplomats to know the historical sites of the city of Salé, recalling the ancient human exchanges between Morocco and Portugal through the installation of a large community of Portuguese nationals in several Moroccan cities, notably in Salé.
For the Coordinator of the United Nations system and resident representative of the United Nations Development Program in Morocco, Philippe Poinsot, this visit allows you to discover the history of the imperial city of Salé, as well as its cultural and tourist sites and its architecture.
