The Minister of Equipment supervises the installation of Hassan Zitouni as new Governor of Azilal Province

The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Abdelkader Amara, chaired this afternoon, Tuesday November 11, 2025, at the headquarters of the Prefecture of Azilal, the installation ceremony of Hassan Zitouni as new Governor of the province, succeeding Hassan Benkhayi

This appointment is part of the recent transfer movement carried out by the Ministry of the Interior. The ceremony took place in the presence of important figures, notably the Wali of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra Region, the Wali of Regional Security, the President of the Regional Council, the President of the Court of First Instance Azilal, the Provincial Delegate of the Ministry of Habous, as well as representatives of the judicial authority, elected officials and civil society actors, highlighting the institutional importance of this appointment.

Hassan Zitouni arrives in Azilal with a rich professional background in Territorial Administration. He started as Caïd in the province of Khouribga in 1993 and rose through the ranks by occupying various management positions, notably Head of the Internal Affairs Division in Khouribga then in Tétouan, before being appointed Secretary General of the Prefecture of Fez His career continued as Governor of several provinces: Nouveaux in February 2016, Tinghir in 2019, and Al Hoceïma in October 2023
