Digital Morocco 2030: Mobilization of 1.3 billion dirhams to strengthen the startup ecosystem and stimulate entrepreneurial innovation

During the closing session of the fifth edition of the international conference “Digital Now 2025”, organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Minister Aml Fallah Sgharouchni announced the mobilization of a global financial envelope of 1.3 billion dirhams dedicated to the development of the Moroccan startup ecosystem as part of the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy

This envelope is divided into 750 million dirhams for support programs for business creation, 450 million for venture capital, and 70 million for the Technopark network. According to the minister, the national venture capital system is in the process of mobilizing new financing mechanisms aimed at attracting more private investment to startups and boosting the entrepreneurial spirit

The support programs, combined with the offer from the Technopark network, aim to structure global support for the creation of 1,000 startups by 2026, and 3,000 by 2030. The minister also highlighted targeted initiatives, such as the digital inclusion program in rural areas and the creation of the Al-Jazari Institutes, which should promote the emergence of regional ecosystems of innovation and support for local entrepreneurship future

The implementation of the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy is based on an integrated and inclusive vision, the result of a broad participatory process, aimed at guaranteeing digital inclusion, accelerating the digitalization of SMEs and building an environment conducive to the emergence of national technological leaders

For her part, Lamia Benmakhlouf, general director of Technopark, welcomed the dynamic of support for companies operating in digital, which has enabled the emergence of startups with significant potential in terms of innovation and growth, citing the JobInTech initiative which transforms Moroccan talents into technical skills, as well as the creation of the Moroccan Center for Financial Technologies

“These systems provide us with the necessary support to be better prepared and support a greater number of startups,” she indicated, highlighting concrete indicators such as the export rate. “Today, among the 450 digital startups and micro-enterprises supported by Technopark, 36% export to four continents: Europe, Africa, the United States and the Middle East. »

This event, organized from December 10 to 12 under the theme “Transformation and growth of businesses in Africa – resilience and impact”, was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.

The forum brought together leaders from the public and private sectors, technology experts, as well as economic actors to debate the levers of digital transformation and business growth on the African continent.
