ALI DAOUDI
An artistic evening was held this Thursday evening at the headquarters of the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development in Rabat, as part of the 23rd edition of « Thursday of the Andalusians » (خميس الأندلسيات), the monthly artistic event which celebrates the authentic Moroccan Arab-Andalusian heritage.
The event was hosted by the orchestra of the Silwane Culture and Arts Association, which transported the audience through the worlds of Andalusian Samâa (spiritual song) and Madih (praise), in an authentic style combining mastery and renewal.
The orchestra performed selected pieces from the Nawba Al Hijaz Al Kabir. The troupe brilliantly performed selected pieces, characterized by the fluidity of their melodies and the delicacy of their rhythms, taking the audience on a musical journey imbued with spirituality and serenity.
In a statement to the press, the vice-secretary general of the Ribat Al Fath Association, Nabil Fniguer, stressed that « Andalusian Thursday » constitutes a unifying space for enthusiasts of this ancestral art and a platform to consolidate the culture of loyalty to Moroccan musical heritage.
He added that through this regular activity, the association works to encourage younger generations and instill in them the love of this refined art, thus ensuring the sustainability of the Andalusian Moroccan school in its various components. For his part, the president of the orchestra, Yasser Cherki, expressed his pride in participating for the second time in this cultural event dedicated to the preservation of Arab-Andalusian heritage, noting that « Thursday of the Andalusians » has become a regular artistic event which combines preservation of authenticity and openness to new experiences.
He praised the considerable efforts made by the Ribat Al Fath Association to protect this ancestral artistic heritage, by organizing meetings that bring together generations and build bridges of communication between the founding generation and emerging talents.
Organized by the Ribat Al Fath Association for more than twenty years, « Thursday of the Andalusians » is an artistic and cultural event which constitutes a regular stopover to celebrate Moroccan Al Âla music and promote its aesthetic and spiritual symbols.
This event, which is held on the last Thursday of each month, aims to safeguard this authentic musical heritage and strengthen its place on the national cultural scene, by welcoming orchestras from different cities of the Kingdom, honoring emblematic figures of Andalusian Tarab, and involving new generations in the continuity of this ancestral art.
