Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy left Marrakech on Tuesday for Paris after a private visit of several days to Morocco, we learned from local authorities.
On the eve of his departure, Nicolas Sarkozy received the head of government Abdelillah Benkirane at his residence, according to the same source.
It was a “courtesy” visit during which Mr. Benkirane emphasized the “strong” relationship that exists between Morocco and France, it was added.
Mr. Sarkozy, accompanied by his wife Carla Bruni, arrived on July 24 in the ocher city where a residence was made available to him by King Mohammed VI.
