Morocco aims to attract 425,000 Italian tourists in 2017

Through promotional action based on communication, the enhancement of cultural and historical heritage and the development of seaside tourism, Morocco has set itself the objective of attracting a global flow of 425,000 Italian tourists in 2017.

This figure would represent an increase of 5% compared to the past year, said Jazia Sentissi, delegate of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) in Italy, in a statement to MAP on the occasion of the opening, Sunday, of the International Tourism Exchange (BIT) in Milan in which Morocco is participating with a 120 m stand2. “We intend to support the enthusiasm of Italian visitors for Morocco by improving cultural and historical knowledge of the Kingdom among Italian tourists while emphasizing the stable aspect of the destination”, she underlined.

According to Ms. Sentissi, “there is often an amalgamation between Morocco and other Arab and Maghreb destinations”, hence the need to “redouble our efforts by multiplying cultural actions in Italian provincial towns both in the north and the south of the country”.
