Morocco prepares the largest stadium in the world

Will Morocco be preferred to Spain to host the final of the Football World Cup in 2030? Moroccans believe in it. Their advantage: a stadium presented as the largest on the planet. The tvpworld site reports that Morocco’s pharaonic project to build a 115,000-seat enclosure in Casablanca for the world tournament, co-organized with Spain and Portugal (with meetings in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay), is taking shape. Seven architectural firms responded to the call for tenders and proposed a project. The American firm Populous, in collaboration with the Moroccan architects Oualalou + Choi, was selected. He notably worked on the new stadiums of Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham in London, and that of Benfica in Lisbon. The project plans to build the enclosure by the sea, in the town of El Mansouria, approximately 35 kilometers from Casablanca. Announced budget: 456 million euros. The stadium should be ready in 2026, four years before the Centenary World Cup.
