Motorsport: Morocco first African country to host a Formula 4 championship in 2024 and 2025

The Royal Moroccan Motor Sports Federation announced the creation of a Formula 4 championship, in 2024 and 2025, open to Moroccan drivers as well as « the best international drivers, particularly from Europe and the MENA region ». The FRMSA specified that Morocco will be the first African country with a competition of such scale. The Federation also announced that several circuits are in the process of being approved.

Morocco will join the closed circle of countries hosting Formula 4 events from next year, as the first nation on the continent to organize a championship in the discipline. Indeed, on the occasion of Independence Day, the president of the Royal Moroccan Motor Sports Federation (FRMSA), Abderrahim Abdane, announced the organization, for the first time in Morocco, of a Formula 4 championship, in 2024 and 2025. This single-seater championship, organized by FRMSA and AGS, will be open to Moroccan drivers as well as to the best international drivers, particularly from Europe and the region. MENA. Morocco joins the club of countries hosting this discipline, considered the gateway to Formula 1. The rounds of the Moroccan Formula 4 championship calendar will take place in the approved circuits available to the Kingdom. Other circuits will be added after their international approval process. The president of the FRMSA further assured that the Federation will continue, with all its partners, the work towards standardizing the practice of motor sports in Morocco to world standards, with the aim of raising the country’s colors in international competitions.
