Tourism: Air France will operate in Tangier from summer 2021

Good news for Tangiers and foreign tourists who like to visit the pearl of the North. The Moroccan National Tourism Office has just announced that the French airline, Air France, will strengthen its presence in Morocco through the launch, from summer 2021, of a new air link between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tangier-Ibn Battouta airports.

Thus, from June 3, 2021, Air France will connect the French capital to the strait city with a maximum of 3 weekly flights (Thursday/Sunday in June, Tuesday/Friday/Sunday in July/August), thus confirming the attractiveness of the destination among French tourists. “This is a great opportunity to not only connect Tangier to the French capital but also to take advantage of the company’s Parisian hub to connect northern Morocco to European and global markets,” underlines Adel El Fakir, general director of ONMT.

Thanks to its partnership with the Tourist Office, Air France is strengthening its presence in Morocco where the company already serves all year round from the French capital, the cities of Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat and in summer the city of Agadir.

For its summer 2021 program, the company plans to program a total of 277,950 seats, reinforced in particular by 10,036 seats set up as part of the Paris-Tangier line. Through this partnership, the ONMT confirms the positioning of the Tangier region as a major national tourism destination and responds to a fundamental axis of the region’s development, based in particular on strengthening its accessibility and connectivity.
