The broad outlines of the Vision 2020 tourism boost plan were presented during a meeting which brought together the Secretary of State for Tourism, Lamia Boutaleb, and professionals from the region in Agadir.
“Accommodation capacities, air connections and the upgrading of the tourist product were at the heart of the exchanges,”according to a press release from this department.
Held at the start of the week, in the presence of the wali of the Souss-Massa region, Ahmed Hajji and the president of the regional council, Brahim Hafidi, the meeting focused on the main themes of the Vision 2020 impetus plan and the progress of the various projects in the region, notably the development of air links for summer 2018 and winter 2018-2019. The discussions also focused on the upgrading of the tourism product, the promotion of the destination and the new model of local governance of the sector following the adoption by the Council of the region of a regional development company (SDR) of tourism, adds the same source. The meeting also took place in the presence of the directors of the supervisory ministry, the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (Smit) and the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT).
