“Voyage Privé” wants to double its capacities in Morocco
The top management of “Voyage Privé” is prospecting in the different regions of the Kingdom. Initiated by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), this operation aims to expand the Morocco offer on the leading private travel sales site. The managers of the online platform made a stopover in Fez, before flying to Casablanca and Marrakech. L’Economiste returns to the main objectives of this road show.
? Sell luxury travel at the best price
In Fez, those responsible for “Voyage Privé” held their first seminar last Thursday with professionals from the spiritual capital, Meknes and Ifrane. “They want to have more offers in this region and better know its products,” says Khalid Mimi, director of the ONMT for France. For him, the Office ensured the connection between the sales force of the first online TO in Europe and the operators in the sector. Note that representatives of “Voyage Privé” France, Portugal, Italy, Spain, England, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland are there. “They will visit establishments and deal with professionals. Developing a digital-based commercial strategy together is no exception,” underlines Mimi. The goal is to ensure a presence of the region’s product on the network platform. For its leaders, “the ambition is to offer their 31 million members a selection of high-end trips, stays and leisure activities at the best price guaranteed with reductions of up to -70%.”
? Discuss, exchange and enter into contracts…
Indeed, the sales force of the Private Online Club aims to be pragmatic. His credo: discuss, exchange, and make reservations. Concretely, “Voyage Privé” (VP) wants to go from 70,000 nights sold in Morocco in 2018 to 120,000 in 2019. To achieve this, Maxime Romon, group manager for Africa and the Mediterranean, intends to “diversify the proposition of the Morocco offer with the integration of cultural, nature and other tourism”. With the support of the Office, which provides support in all-round communication and promotion (TV, media, etc.), the company will set course for the destinations of Fez, Meknes, Ifrane, Marrakech, El Jadida and Essaouira. Because, to date, the bulk of its turnover is achieved thanks to the ocher city (more than 25,000 trips) and Agadir. “Every day, we suggest travel ideas, in France, in Europe, around the Mediterranean basin or to distant destinations, for a night, a weekend or a long stay… for a unique vacation. Our offers, rigorously selected and negotiated by our team of experts, are presented exclusively for a limited period (7 days on average) according to the principle of a private sale,” explains the management of the online platform. Note that it sold more than a million trips this year (7.8 million since its creation in 2006), thus achieving a turnover of 620 million euros.
? A selection of the best products
With more than 110 travel experts, 500 employees offering personalized support, in addition to teams specialized in market needs, VP relies heavily on the quality of hotels. Its experts have prospected more than 1,000 tourist establishments offering exceptional, quality products. For Morocco, their strategy, based on flash sales, highlights rarity (exclusive offer), product excellence, and seduction. For this last component, the marketing teams will try to interest more socio-professional categories (CSP+), who have the means to purchase luxury travel.
? Essaouira and Agadir, two unforgettable cities in Morocco
On the travel site, the small port city of Essaouira is promoted as another Moroccan destination with an enchanting setting. The course is also set for sunny Agadir, to the south. “In addition, if Marrakech remains the main destination for Morocco, there are other breathtaking sites which are well worth the detour,” underlines VP. For those responsible, Fez, Rabat and Ouarzazate are among the top 5 must-see cities in Morocco. And to invite a trip to Fez: “Worldwide recognized for its medina, the city of Fez alone symbolizes Moroccan charm. Listed for several years as a UNESCO world heritage site, the medina of Fez is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the country. Finally, who says Morocco often thinks of the desert, Ouarzazate symbolizes this very well by acting as a border to it. Often compared to an oasis at the gateway to the desert and its endless sand dunes, this small town has inspired a number of films such as “The Mummy” and “Gladiator”. It is also possible to visit film studios after a camel ride.
