Ourika celebrates its golden champion… A night of pride away from the spotlight and the cameras
ABDELAZIZ BERKACH
During an evening far from the tumult of cameras and the din of microphones, the Independent Association of Drinking Water Distribution of Douar El Hajeb in Ourika created an exceptional event in tribute to the brilliant ouriki champion, Ibrahim Haim, who won the gold belt last week at the Moroccan Championship in the “Hand to Hand” discipline », under the supervision of his trainer and international champion Hamza Ejjek.
After the Al-Ishaa prayer, the evening opened with a moving recitation of Koranic verses, followed by a moment of fervor during the performance of the national anthem. Mr. Abderrahim El Aali then delivered a warm welcome speech, greeting the guests who had come to honor a champion who carried the name of Ourika high in the -88 kg category of one of the most prominent martial disciplines.
In a friendly and close atmosphere, a short tea break followed, before the organizing committee opened the debate on a theme of great importance: “ The role of the associative fabric in the development of youth. »
The speakers — teachers, sports supervisors and associative actors — presented converging visions welcoming the new dynamic instilled by the Independent Drinking Water Distribution Association.
This is no longer a simple organization responsible for supplying residents with water, but a real development actor working for the development of the youth of Douar El Hajeb and the region.
During his speech, teacher Rizwan Elkout raised a sensitive issue linked to the decline of the impact and influence of local youth, compared to past decades when the young people of Ourika were among the most brilliant representatives of the province in national sporting and cultural events.
He questioned, not without bitterness, the real reasons for this growing decline, which is pushing part of the youth towards deviant trajectories. As for the intervention of Mr. Aboubakr Abaran, it instilled a glimmer of hope.
He presented concrete and effective solutions to respond to the challenges facing youth, citing the successful experiences of the Tizi Nouchk and Tafza douars, which have become models in the fight against deviance and the educational and sporting support of their young people. The second part of the evening was devoted to the theme “Sport and education… what link?” », a question directly linked to the journey of champion Ibrahim Haim.
Supervisors Youssef Amzil and Rachid Aït Mbark presented in-depth interventions highlighting the importance of participatory supervision between the teacher, the family and local authorities in the training of a strong, disciplined generation capable of excelling.
Then is arrived the long-awaited moment… that of the tribute ceremony to the champion Ibrahim Haim and his trainer Hamza Ejjek. Symbolic gifts and sincere smiles were immortalized by the devices of those present, in order to remember an evening which will remain engraved in the history of Douar El Hajeb.
The evening ended with a festive dinner, bringing together the participants in a warm atmosphere imbued with pride… a pride which, that evening, shone golden.
