In a festive atmosphere, and on the occasion of the double celebration of the Youth Day and the Anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, Ourika kicks off the 7th edition of its annual festival. The event is organized by the Union of Civil Society Associations under the theme: “Sport for development”. The slogan chosen by the organizing committee clearly illustrates the growing importance given to sport in all its forms in the region, ranging from football to martial arts and personal defense disciplines.
This direction comes after Ourika’s recent exploits, including the national title in youth pankration and third place in the world in the heavyweight category, as the Kingdom prepares to host major events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.
The festivities open Monday, August 18 at 9 p.m., on the grounds of the socio-sports complex, in the presence of the sports associations and clubs who will be honored for their contribution.
The next morning, the public will be able to attend a 10 km race, followed on Wednesday by a unique fantasia and traditional horse riding show, scheduled from 5 p.m. on the grounds of Ennasraniya. The festival will close on Thursday evening with a large open-air artistic evening from 9:30 p.m., putting an end to an edition which combines sport and culture, and confirms Ourika’s place as a vibrant space of life and success.
