Sustainable tourism: Azilal-Beni Mellal refines its offer

Creation of around twenty tourist circuits, attractive packages, production of tourist maps around the main attraction sites… the sustainable tourism offer in the provinces of Azilal and Beni Mellal is becoming clearer. This article is a press review taken from the daily newspaper Today Morocco.

Support tourism providers in the development of tourist packages and circuits for priority visitor flows in terms of content, communication and marketing for Azilal and Beni Mellal. This is indicated by a call for demonstrations launched as part of the “Sustainable Tourism Switzerland-Morocco” program, implemented by the Swiss-contact Maroc foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), indicates the daily Today Morocco in its edition of Thursday, November 24. As part of the development of sustainable tourism, the project aims to “strengthen around twenty existing circuits in terms of adaptation of activities to priority visitor flows, optimization of cost calculation, the development of a communication and marketing strategy for priority circuits and the production of a family circuit and package proposals around the theme of the dinosaur at the Azillal Geopark”, we read. This circuit should notably include the Azilal museum, the dinosaur track sites in the province, the different geo-sites of the Mgoun Geo-park and the different tourist activities offered in the area. The consultant’s mission includes the production of a circuit for the flow of paratroopers from Beni Mellal and for their families in the hinterland of the province of Beni Mellal, with variants and package proposals, strengthening the skills of 30 tourist providers in terms of developing circuits and packages. “In addition, it is required to produce 15 tourist maps around the main tourist attraction sites and the production of a presentation model of tourist activities for tourist actors (guides, lodges, etc.), specifies the daily. The “Sustainable Tourism Switzerland-Morocco” program, financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for the Economy, covers a period of 5 years (2020-2024). Its overall approach is based on three pillars: developing framework conditions conducive to the development of sustainable tourism, strengthening the competitiveness and market access of certain sectors included in the tourism value chain and finally developing tourism skills.
