The Africa Futsal Cup of Nations (CAN Futsal) is a major competition for national futsal teams in Africa. The article you mention seems to evoke expectations around the Moroccan national futsal team, nicknamed the « Lions of the Atlas », to win the title again at the 2024 Futsal CAN. If Morocco has already won the Futsal CAN several times in the past, notably in 2016, it is understandable that fans and observers anticipate further success for their national team, especially if it appears to be well prepared and have a strong roster team. Winning the Futsal CAN would not only mean sporting glory for the Moroccan team, but it could also have a positive impact on futsal in Morocco, encouraging more young people to get involved in the sport and boosting its popularity nationally. It would be interesting to follow the progress of the competition and see if the Atlas Lions can fulfill expectations and win a new title during the 2024 Futsal CAN.
Morocco was placed in group A of the next futsal CAN (Morocco-2024), alongside Angola, Ghana and Zambia, while group B includes Egypt, Libya, Namibia and Mauritania. This 7th edition of the futsal CAN will take place from April 11 to the 21st of the same month at the Ibn Yassine hall and at the Palais des Sports of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
