
WAM 2025: Morocco positions itself as a leader in new generation industries
The World Advanced Manufacturing & Logistics Expo & Summit (WAM Morocco) will be held from October 28 to 30, 2025 in Casablanca with the objective of propelling Morocco’s thriving manufacturing industry towards new generation sectors. + A – A Organized under the aegis of the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Commerce and in partnership with major industrial partners, namely the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE), WAM Morocco aims to promote the emergence of new sectors and strengthen the country’s industrial capacities for sustainable growth. Taking place at the Casablanca International Fair (FIC), WAM Morocco is organized by Kaoun International, the organizer of Gitex Global, the largest and most influential global trade fair dedicated to technology and artificial intelligence, as well as Giex Africa in Morocco – the largest technology and start-up event on the continent. Event Highlights and Strategic Objectives WAM Morocco is committed to advancing and supporting Morocco’s vision to become a sustainable and globally competitive manufacturing and logistics hub, showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as AI, quantum computing, 3D printing, blockchain and mixed reality. WAM Morocco will include a series of specialized events, including WAP (World Advanced Packaging, Printing, and Plastic Technologies), dedicated to innovations in packaging and plastic technologies, WASIM (World Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing), focused on advanced sustainable manufacturing and WIM (World Industrial Materials), dedicated to advanced industrial materials. These events aim to stimulate partnerships between the public and private sectors, attract foreign investment and support local capacity building, thereby contributing to lasting economic impact and consolidating Morocco’s role as an African leader in technological and sustainable manufacturing. Morocco relies on solid foundations in the automotive and aeronautics sectors, boosted by projects such as the Fez Smart Factory and the National Ports Strategy 2030, with a budget of $600 million. These initiatives have attracted significant foreign investment. Morocco has become the largest non-European automobile exporter to Europe. Additionally, it occupies an important position in the aeronautics sector, with exports totaling $2.2 billion, serving major clients such as Boeing and Airbus. Recent advances in manufacturing and logistics place Morocco on the international stage, as it prepares to welcome WAM Morocco. The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, welcomed this initiative, noting that WAM Morocco represents an important step in Morocco’s journey to become one of the main advanced manufacturing hubs in Africa and the world. “Participating in this event highlights our nation’s commitment to innovation, economic resilience and industrial leadership. By bringing together global and local expertise, we are creating an environment where technological innovation and sustainable practices can thrive, propelling our country and the continent towards a prosperous, technology-driven future,” said Mr. Mezzour. For her part, Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of Kaoun International, organizer of WAM Morocco and Gitex Africa, underlined that “WAM Morocco is a strategic and powerful maneuver for Morocco, accelerating the notoriety of the Kingdom and the country. in high-tech industries and providing unprecedented access to global technological capabilities. “By bringing together the best talents in innovation, investment and collaboration, WAM Morocco is poised to trigger a new wave of industrial revolution in Africa, paving the way for accelerated growth on the global stage,” she argued. For his part, the President of the CGEM, Chakib Alj, expressed his support by emphasizing the importance of public-private collaboration. “This event goes beyond a simple exhibition. It is a crucial platform for Moroccan companies, particularly SMEs, to open up internationally, collaborate with global leaders in innovation and establish partnerships that will accelerate our industrial development,” underlined Mr. Alj, stressing that by bringing together start-ups and large local companies with international pioneers, “we are laying the foundations for sustainable growth, increased competitiveness and strengthened economic resilience. We fully support this initiative and anticipate significant economic benefits for Morocco and Africa as a whole.”
