MOGA was born in 2016 in Essaouira, formerly “Mogador”, where he returns after two years of absence at the Sofitel Essaouira Mogador golf & Spa. MOGA is a “boutique festival” dedicated to electronic music and inspired by bohemian culture, the Atlantic and its relaxed, surfing lifestyle.

The singularity of the festival lies in its unique experience connecting festival-goers from all over the world from different cultures and origins around dance, music, art and well-being but also values of sharing, openness, exchange, interculturality.

MOGA has created a tribe over the years, a strong community of nomads the#MogaTribewhich now extends from Portugal (MOGA Caparica edition in June) to Morocco (MOGA Essaouira edition in October) and soon beyond. The discovery of a place, a culture, a city at the heart of the concept of the festival, in association with the local tourist offices: Moroccans and Lisbon.

Thus the festival includes an OFF part with free access events: workshops, sporting activities, talks, food… associated with official paid evenings which mix avant-garde from the international and local scene in a style ranging from disco to house music, mixing oriental and exotic sounds with the deep and hypnotic tempo of club music.

During the two years of forced absence (2020 and 2021), MOGA was exported with a new edition to Portugal, south of Lisbon on the Costa da Caparica. From June 1 to 5, 2022, the second Portuguese edition was a huge success. Festival-goers from 30 nationalities came to watch the sets of nearly 50 DJs, in the best beach clubs of this world-famous surf and digital nomad spot.

On stage as in the crowd, everyone had regained their bearings: doing the party and enjoy these unique moments in a magical setting, with your feet in the sand facing the Atlantic Ocean.

In Morocco, MOGA returns for a 5-day festival throughout the city of Essaouira

September 28 and 29, two days OFF with free events in different Souiri establishments: in the Medina and by the beach. And from September 30 to October 2, the Sofitel Essaouira Mogador golf & Spa will host the three days of the festival, with no less than 5 stages installed and a line up that mixes Moroccan, Portuguese and international artists.
