The 4th edition of the Automotive Subcontracting Show will be held from April 26 to 28 in Tangier Automotive City, under the theme « Anchoring the automotive sector through an acceleration of the development of subcontracting », the organizers announced on Wednesday.
This international meeting, where the opportunities offered by the automotive industry sector in terms of subcontracting will be exposed, will welcome this year no less than 280 exhibitors and more than 4,000 visitors, said Tajeddine Bennis, president of the industry college of the Moroccan Association of Automotive Industry and Construction (AMICA), which is at the origin of this event.
The objective of this platform is to attract as many subcontractors as possible to settle around equipment manufacturers, with a view to guaranteeing proximity, responsiveness and optimization of subcontracting costs, something which is fundamental in the automotive sector, explained Mr. Tajeddine, who spoke at a press conference dedicated to the presentation of this event.
He also underlined that the Group of Moroccan Aeronautical and Space Industries (GIMAS) is the guest of honor of the 2017 edition, specifying that beyond automotive equipment manufacturers, this show will see the participation this year of more than 20 subcontractors from the aeronautics and space sectors.
The international influence of this show, which is now established as an essential annual meeting for subcontractors and equipment manufacturers, is also characterized by the participation of several foreign Chambers of Commerce and Industry, in this case from France, Spain, Portugal and Romania, he added, recalling the annual subcontracting needs of the automotive sector estimated this year at more than 6 billion dirhams and which will exceed 10 billion dirhams in 2020.
Exhibitors expected during the three days of the Show will unveil their latest new products and offers in subcontracting, over a covered area of more than 5,000 m². The exhibition site chosen within Tangier Automotive City, in full industrial development with the establishment of more than thirty companies operating mainly in the automobile industry, not far from the Renault factory, is likely to encourage more exchanges between the operators of the different automobile manufacturing platforms: Tanger Automotive City, Tanger Free Zone and Atlantic Free Zone.
Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, this exhibition will promote exchanges between tier 1 and tier 2 manufacturers-equipment manufacturers on one side and their subcontractors on the other side, and will ensure interaction between national and foreign contractors as well as the development of partnerships in order to realize opportunities business offered by the dynamic created by the development of the sector.
Perfectly in line with the strategy of the 2014-2020 Industrial Acceleration Plan, the development of the subcontracting fabric around the different ecosystems is a guarantee for the anchoring of the automotive sector in Morocco. Synergies with other industrial federations, notably the aeronautics, electronics, textiles and metallurgy industries, offer more development opportunities.
