“Ras-El-Hanut”, a collective exhibition in Marrakech
The French Institute of Marrakech and Maroc Premium are organizing a collective exhibition “Ras-El-Hanut” in Marrakech from January 27 to February 27, 2012. The opening of the Ras-El-Hanut exhibition is scheduled for January 27 at 6 p.m. at Riad Denise Masson.

According to a press release from the organizers, Ras-El-Hanut is a mixture of “hot” spices whose composition varies according to the science and fantasy of the person who assembles them. There was no better name for this group of Mediterranean artists of very different origins, cultural traditions and sensibilities, united by a single certainty: cultural wealth comes from contacts and exchanges between human groups. Together, they have been traveling through Europe and Africa for years. Ras-El-Hanut, composed of Abdellah Ahaddaf, Jaume Amigo, Ahmed Amrani, Marika Perros, David Ribas and Khadija Tnana had invited, for their stopover in Morocco, in the Essaouira region, a director, Joan Cabo, and four visual artists, Georg Massanés, Vicente Ribera, Tawfiq Chichani and Noureddine Fathy. With the presentation of collective and individual works, videos and photographs, the visitor is invited to relive this intense moment of creation but also of reflection on plurality.
The opening will also be an opportunity to present to the public the new multi-purpose room (cinema room, shows, dance studio, exhibitions, conferences, etc.) built at the level of the old swimming pool thanks to the generous patronage of Mr. Hicham Hasnaoui and his company SO.LA.MA., and to discover the new garden created by the landscaper Jean-Charles Mazet (« A garden in addition »), also patron and partner of Riad Masson throughout the year. These two achievements are the culmination of six months of work.
