
Agadir: German tourists at the top of recorded nights
German tourists topped the number of overnight stays recorded in Agadir in February 2017, with 74,795 overnight stays compared to 43,637 during the same period in 2016, achieving a sharp increase of 71.40%.
The French market comes in 2nd position with 72,304 overnight stays last February compared to 61,138 a year earlier, an increase of 18.26%, according to statistics from the Agadir-Souss-Massa Regional Tourism Council.
Nights recorded by nationals also increased by 28.71%, from 41,365 in February 2016 to 53,241 in February 2017.
Nights spent by tourists from the United Kingdom also increased by 5.16%, or 39,578 nights in February 2017 compared to 37,635 a year earlier.
In terms of classification by tourist accommodation unit, 4-star hotels come in first position with 106,906 nights, followed by tourist villages with 101,155 nights and 5-star hotels with 68,824 nights.
