Agadir strengthens its tourist infrastructure
Agadir, the leading national seaside resort, is consolidating its hotel capacity with the opening of a new high-end establishment from the Dounia Hôtels group.
Built on two hectares in the tourist sector, this boutique hotel offers around a hundred suites and rooms, themed cafes and restaurants, a spa, as well as various entertainment venues and points of sale.
Khalij Agadir, whose design is inspired by riads, aims to be “an address for very high-end tourism”, indicates the owner of the group Abdelhadi Alami, in a statement to MAP.
The establishment required an investment of 150 million DH, not counting the land which is state-owned, he said.
With this hotel unit, Abdelhadi Alami, one of the pioneers of Moroccan hospitality and tourism, marks his return to the capital of Souss where he had already managed a number of hotels and vacation clubs in the past.
“Agadir today has a lot of hotels but it also needs to attract a luxury clientele among national and foreign tourists,” he said.
This professional also made a point of emphasizing the need for an upgrade of the tourist product and an overhaul of the city’s image to promote the dynamic recovery of the destination.
