
Tourism: Morocco and India determined to strengthen their cooperation
Morocco and India are determined to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector given the enormous economic opportunities it offers and its importance in bringing together two ancient cultures, underlined, Monday in Casablanca, participants in the first Moroccan-Indian forum on tourism.
Relations between the two countries, which date back to the time of Ibn Battouta, “are progressing rapidly” since the visit of HM King Mohammed VI in 2015 to New Delhi where the Sovereign attended the India-Africa summit, they added, observing that Morocco and India share many points in common and have enormous economic opportunities to exploit, particularly in the tourism sector.
Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, welcomed the excellent relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of strengthening these achievements, particularly through the development of cooperation in the tourism sector. Mr. Sajid notably announced that the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) is about to open its first representative office in New Delhi with a view to promoting the Morocco destination and helping to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a strategic sector for the economies of the two countries.
