Hospitality: 2019 looks promising for Accor
2018 was a good year for the Accor group and the tourism sector in general. “A great year synonymous with expansion and new openings,” in the words of Ismaïl Loubaris, director of sales, marketing and distribution at AccorHotels. The past year was marked by new openings, notably in Mohammedia (Ibis and Novotel) and the rise of the Fairmont brand.
“In addition to the Fairmont Marrakech, two other openings are planned this year in Rabat and Taghazout,” continues the manager. For the Fairmont Rabat Marina, the residential component is already marketed and is backed by a hotel with 186 rooms and suites.
The hotel, located in Salé, offers an exceptional view of Rabat (Hassan Tower, mausoleum, mouth of the Bouregreg, etc.). The second Fairmont, also expected this year, is located in Taghazout. “These units are among the most beautiful Fairmonts in the world,” says Loubaris.
With double-digit growth and an occupancy rate higher than the national average (around 66%), the group is starting 2019 with a bang. The hotel manager now has more than thirty brands in its portfolio. Fairmont, Rafles, Movenpick and Suisse Hôtels are among the latest to join its fold.
The group is also strengthening its presence in Casablanca, which aims to become a flagship destination for Mice tourism (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions). By the end of 2019/2020, a new opening is planned in Casablanca. This is the Ibis Abdelmoumen (currently under construction).
“Which will bring the number of units in the group to 8 on the Casablanca/Mohamedia axis with an overall capacity of more than 1,255 rooms,” continues Accor management. The group today has no less than 6,000 rooms in 41 units across Morocco, employing nearly 3,000 employees.
For 2019, Accor has put together a whole program aimed at its business customers. Thus, for all reservations before July 31, 2019, the new “Club Meeting Planner” offer allows you to double loyalty points (Rewards) with each reservation of rooms, meeting rooms or events in Accor hotels.
Whether for professional or private meetings, in small groups or in groups, classic or offbeat, a whole day or just a few hours, the Club Meeting Planner experts will offer the solution adapted to the needs and especially to the budgets, promises the management of the hotel chain.
