850 MDH for two new hotel complexes

Two new hotel complexes will soon see the light of day in Marrakech and Casablanca. It is the investment funds Actif Invest and H. Partner’s which will invest 850 million dirhams for the realization of this new project. The agreements relating to the financing of this investment were signed on the one hand by Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Tourism and Crafts, Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Economy and Finance, Ahmed Réda Chami, Minister of Trade, Industry and New Technologies, and on the other hand by Kacem El Bouanani, Managing Director of Actif Invest and Fouad Chraibi, Managing Director of H. Partner’s, during of a ceremony organized on Wednesday March 18 in Rabat. Under these agreements, the company Actif Invest of the BMCE Bank group undertakes to build a hotel complex in Marrakech for 618 million dirhams. This is part of a partnership with the French hotel group “Nouvelles Frontières”, a subsidiary of the TUI Group. This project has a capacity of 800 rooms and will generate more than 1,200 direct jobs. The second operator, namely H. Partner’s of the Attijariwafa bank and Banque populaire groups, will be responsible in accordance with these agreements for the completion of both a hotel project in Marrakech in partnership with the Spanish group “Husa Hoteles” and also another project in the economic metropolis, for a budget of 230 million dirhams. These latest projects will strengthen national reception capacity with 534 additional beds and will generate more than 214 direct jobs. 
It should be noted that these new hotel establishments will be managed by big names in the international hotel industry. As for delivery, it is planned for 2012. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Boussaid specified that “the commitment of these two funds shows that the Moroccan tourism sector continues to attract investments. This dynamic in the sector is set in motion thanks to the 2010 vision which is being maintained despite an unfavorable international situation. For clarification, the H. Partner’s investment fund is already participating in the development of three Plan Azur resorts. Actif Invest and H. Partner’s are two leading players in real estate and tourism investments in Morocco.
