Tourism operators are already preparing for the post-Covid-19 era
How to revive tourism after the crisis? Professionals in the sector are already working on recovery scenarios.
Tourism professionals are starting to think about post-covid-19. A sector very affected by the coronavirus pandemic, tourism has recorded immense losses, estimated at billions of DH according to the CNT (National Confederation of Tourism). Returning to the subject in its April 8 issue, L’Economiste focuses on the recovery scenarios that could be implemented to restore color to Moroccan tourism as quickly as possible, after the crisis. For most professionals, it is still too early to talk about recovery.
“Even if it is too early to talk about recovery, it is nevertheless time to start studying the different avenues for relaunch”, maintains Othmane Chérif Alami, boss of Atlas Voyages. For him, Morocco must follow the trends of its customer markets and border movements. “For example, France will control incoming flows at the health level until October. So, the recovery will depend precisely on air capacity and the opening of borders. What is certain is that we will only return to the pace of 2019 in 3 to 5 years,” he explains.
