Morocco: easing of travel restrictions could occur “from the next 15 days”

As the summer season approaches, travelers and professionals are watching for new entry conditions into Morocco, hoping to see them finally relaxed. In vain, for the moment. But according to an article from the Moroccan media 360ma dated May 7, which cites a government source, the reduction of the double obligation to have a valid vaccination pass and of a negative PCR test to travel to Morocco “will come into force before the start of Operation Marhaba 2022”. Good news for tourism professionals and tourists because at present, travelers, even vaccinated, must take a Covid-19 screening test.

« The agreement for the removal of the obligation of negative PCR for vaccinated people coming to Morocco, via national airports, is already recorded », indicated this source to 360ma, adding that the announcement of the lifting of this measure could even take place « from the next fortnight » and at the latest for the launch of operation Marhaba, which « is characterized by the most significant air and maritime traffic between Europe and the African continent during the summer period », as the site explains. This operation has been stopped for two years due to the pandemic but in 2019, it began on June 15.
