
Dakhla has a hotel and tourism institute
Extended over a total area of 20,000 m2, including 3,850 m2 covered, the Specialized Institute of Hospitality and Tourism has 1,100 educational places, with a diversified offering of 11 sectors dedicated to the hotel and tourism professions.
The Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region has just acquired its own Specialized Institute of Hospitality and Tourism (ISHT). Training within this establishment was officially launched at the end of last week, in the presence of Saaid Amzazi, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Loubna Tricha, Director General of the OFPPT. It is within the framework of the Development Plan for the Southern Provinces, launched on November 7, 2015, in Laâyoune, that this institute was inaugurated with a view to strengthening the vocational training system in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region and adapting the training offer to the demand of the region’s job market.
1,100 educational places
Spread over a total area of 20,000 m2, including 3,850 m2 covered, the ISHT has 1,100 educational places with a diversified portfolio of 11 sectors dedicated to the hotel and tourism professions: hotel management, cooking, catering service, etc. With the aim of developing the technical and transversal skills of trainees, the ISHT has equipped itself with educational spaces, including 14 workshops, specialized rooms and classrooms, in addition to a language laboratory. An educational hotel will allow trainees to immerse themselves in the heart of their future professions, including a reception, a chocolate factory and a bakery.
Southern regions: more than 18,000 places overall, the OFPPT training system in the three southern regions currently offers more than 18,000 educational places, through 15 professional training establishments covering 16 sectors of activity. This training offer is open to four levels of training (specialized technician, technician, qualification and specialization), in addition to the Bac Pro, the College program and the Qualifications training. Also note that the opening of the City of Trades and Skills of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region will make it possible to expand and diversify the OFPPT training offer in the southern regions
