
Ouarzazate with a development program of more than 652 MDH
The Provincial Assembly of Ouarzazate adopted, Monday during its ordinary session in June, a development program for the province for the period 2017-2022 with a budget of 652.85 million DH (MDH).
During this meeting, the President of the Assembly, Saïd Afroukh, affirmed that a budget of 652.85 million DH was devoted to carrying out this program, of which more than 228 million came from the Assembly’s own funds and more than 424 million in the form of contributions from partners. Of this total, the Assembly reserved 368.90 million DH for opening-up, social and solidarity development projects and 19 million for the development of the tourism sector. In addition, 11.25 million DH were allocated to promoting film production and improving cinematographic services in the province.
In order to develop the mining resources, which the region abounds, and to strengthen governance in terms of management, the Provincial Assembly has also mobilized more than 24 million DH with the aim of promoting this economic sector.
More than 187.30 million DH were also allocated to projects aimed at making Ouarzazate an ecological space, especially since the province is home to the largest solar power plant in the world.
