Tourism: soon the mass return of Chinese to Morocco?

This is another good news for the Moroccan tourism sector. China has just made a big announcement. Indeed, this August 10, the country of the Great Wall “resumed group travel to dozens of foreign destinations, including Morocco”. We expected it, now it’s done. For the record, when the first Casablanca-Beijing RAM line was launched, Moroccan operators were counting on hundreds of thousands of Chinese tourists. A source market, said to be emerging, more than buoyant with a clientele who wants to discover new countries. But also known as not being “too careful about the wallet”. Already when the direct line opened, the statistics had exploded with tens of thousands of Chinese who made the trip to Morocco. Without forgetting that the two countries, in addition to bilateral relations which are under the sign of strategic partnership, have one point “very much in common”: Ibn Batouta! The same one that has just received millions of views following Elon Musk’s tweet. Also note the investments, amounting to billions, flowing into Morocco from the Middle Kingdom. Another inflection point shortly, the reopening of the direct air line between the Kingdom and China announced for 2024.
