Pedro Sanchez: The co-organization of the 2030 World Cup will strengthen Morocco-Spain-Portugal friendship

The co-organization of the 2030 Football World Cup represents a concrete example of the excellence of Moroccan-Spanish relations and the common determination to advance the bilateral Road Map, adopted in 2022, said the President of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, on Wednesday in Rabat. “Hosting the World Cup is, without doubt, an extraordinary challenge, but above all an opportunity to continue to further strengthen the bases of friendship between Morocco, Spain and Portugal,” declared the head of the socialist government, during a press conference at the end of his working visit to the Kingdom. This global sporting event will allow the organizing countries to “transmit to the whole world a very positive message of collaboration, good organization and fraternity,” he said, referring to the excellent relations between Morocco and Spain. “The 2030 World Cup will crown an extraordinary collaboration and cooperation between the two countries,” he added in this regard. Likewise, he underlined the importance of organizing a bilateral forum bringing together Moroccan and Spanish companies, “in order to explore the possibilities of cooperation and investment with a view to realizing this exciting project”, particularly in terms of infrastructure.
