This event is also an extension of the 2024 edition, which has expanded its format to become a multidisciplinary platform, The 14th edition of “Atlantic Dialogues” aims to analyze the different crises the world is going through in order to propose paths for reform in line with contemporary reality. The inaugural session will focus on the capacity of democracy to keep its promises in a world marked by profound changes and a loss of confidence
This edition will take place around nine plenary sessions dealing with various topics, accompanied by twenty small group workshops, providing a framework conducive to in-depth discussions on Atlantic transformations and new challenges for the partnership international, Among the themes addressed, little-explored issues will be highlighted, such as the growing role of global trade maritime routes as strategic common goods for global trade, their contribution to the reduction of geopolitical tensions, as well as to the protection of marine ecosystems
The Center emphasizes that the “Atlantic Dialogues” seek to strengthen practical exchanges leading to concrete actions. To date, they have succeeded in bringing together a community of more than 2,000 participants sharing a new vision of Atlantic issues and the opportunities they offer. The sessions, carefully facilitated, promote frank and informal interactions between the public and experts
The opening of the conference will be marked by the presentation of the 12th edition of the “Atlantic Currents” report published by the Center for New South Policies. This report, published since 2014, analyzes the major trends driving the Atlantic basin. Interventions by eminent international personalities, including former heads of state, ministers, diplomats, researchers and experts from the private sector, will enrich the debates on the transformations taking place in this space
On the sidelines of the conference, the Center is also organizing the 12th edition of its young leaders program, which benefits around forty young professionals aged 25 to 35, mainly from Atlantic Area countries, Participants, selected from more than 1000 candidates, join a community of more than 450 members, Before the start of the forum, they will follow an intensive three-day training focused on leadership and design thinking, supervised by international experts. They will then take part in the work of the “Atlantic Dialogues” and will be honored during the closing ceremony where they will present their visions for the future of the enlarged Atlantic space. Among its major initiatives is the “Atlantic Strategy” Group (ASG), created in 2015 in partnership with the German Marshall Foundation for the United States and the Luso-American Development Foundation, which serves as a platform for dialogue between the two shores of the Atlantic. The Center also regularly contributes to the annual reports of the “Atlantic Center” in Portugal, which is a strategic partner, and accompanies an annual conference. it organized in Lisbon bringing together the main actors of the Atlantic system around a specific theme
The Center for New South Policies is organizing, from December 11 to 13, 2025, on the campus of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, the 14th edition of its annual international conference entitled “Dialogues Atlantics”, placed under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
