CCG. The Moroccan nature of the Sahara forcefully reaffirmed
The Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) is aware of the strategic importance of Morocco as a vector of peace in its region and its continent. Its declarations concerning the Kingdom and its full sovereignty over its Sahara clearly show this.
At the end of the work of its 45th summit, the GCC reiterated its constant positions and decisions in favor of the Moroccan character of the Sahara and the preservation of the security and stability of the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as its territorial integrity. In its final declaration published at the end of this summit, held on Sunday in Kuwait, the Council welcomed UN Security Council Resolution 2756 dated October 31, 2024, concerning the Moroccan Sahara, and insisted on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States. Furthermore, the Supreme Council underlined “the importance of the privileged strategic partnership between the GCC and the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco and the implementation of the joint action plan”. The 45th GCC Summit discussed numerous issues of cooperation between the GCC countries, notably political and economic, as well as ways to strengthen joint action, in addition to developments at the regional level.
