Launch of major development projects in Smara for the 50th anniversary of the Green March.)

The province of Smara is experiencing, coinciding with the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Glorious Green March, the launch of a set of major construction projects development for a total cost exceeding 46.9 million Dirhams. These initiatives, supervised by the Governor of the Province, aim to give a strong boost to the region’s infrastructure, social and economic services, thus consolidating the proximity policy and territorial equity.

The projects, whose completion times vary between one month and 14 months, include the renovation of the public lighting network for more than 4.7 million Dirhams, as well as the development of large urban squares for approximately 281 thousand Dirhams.

In the field of sports and recreational, the kick-off was given for the construction of two indoor municipal swimming pools (in the Driss I and Al-Aouda districts) for a total cost of around 27.5 million Dirhams, in addition to the creation of three local sports fields (5.45 million Dirhams) and three sports entertainment and leisure zones (3.99 million Dirhams).

In the agricultural sector, the second phase of the project to build a modern livestock market was launched for 4.98 million Dirhams, with the aim of developing the red meat production sector and creating stable jobs. Local officials stressed that these projects aim to improve the living conditions of residents and support the economic and social attractiveness of the city.
