Less than three weeks before the start of the African Cup of Nations “CAN Morocco 2025”, the African Football Confederation (CAF) has unveiled a series of strict organizational measures addressed to the 24 participating selections, with the aim of ensuring a harmonious start and rigorous organization of this major continental event hosted by the Kingdom
CAF required each selection to send its final list of 28 players ten days before its first match, while threatening a fine of up to $1,000 in the event of a delay. The body also specified that any modification of the list will only be accepted in the event of exceptional circumstances, in particular a confirmed injury preventing a player from playing. participate
On a logistical level, CAF has established a clear vision concerning the travel of the selections during the group phase between the different Moroccan cities hosting the competition. Thus, 18 teams will be authorized to travel by plane, by train or by road, with the possibility of making their trips the day before the match, with the exception of journeys between Rabat and Casablanca which must imperatively take place in the morning of the day of the match
The teams affected by these measures are: Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Benin, Mozambique, Cameroon, Gabon, Comoros, Mali, Zambia, Sudan, Burkina Faso and Guinea equatorial.
