
Gala match in Marrakech with the participation of African football legends
A gala match bringing together legends of African football was organized on Monday at the El Harti Stadium in Marrakech, on the sidelines of the CAF Awards-2024. Taking part in this match were players from the Moroccan selection who participated in the 1986 and 1998 World Cups and the CAN-2004, the coach of the women’s national selection, Jorge Vilda, the Senegalese stars, Khalilou Fadiga, the Egyptian Mohamed Zidan and the Moroccan stars Tarik Sektioui and Nabil Baha. At the end of this meeting, the Senegalese legend, El-Hadji Diouf, stressed that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, has all the means and offers all the conditions to succeed with flying colors in the organization of the biggest sporting events. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) continues to work for the development of African football, highlighted the former Liverpool striker in a statement to the press, believing that the 2030 World Cup hosted by the Kingdom alongside Spain and Portugal will be an exceptional success. For his part, Mohamed Zidan noted that the previous CAF Awards ceremonies organized in Morocco had been a resounding success, adding that the competition this year for the Awards rewarding African football excellence is “fierce and exciting”. For his part, the former Moroccan pearl, Ahmed Bahja indicated that the Kingdom of Morocco has always succeeded in organizing sporting events at the highest level. In this sense, he said that the Kingdom has all the means and assets to ensure the success of CAN-2025 and the World Cup-2030.
