The local authorities of the city of Marrakech put an end, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to the crisis of a long protest on an electricity pylon, The resolution came after a wise and effective intervention by a group of Sahrawi tribal leaders who succeeded to convince the demonstrator to stop his protest which had lasted six consecutive days
The person concerned, originally from the Southern Provinces, had climbed on the pylon as a sign of protest against an expulsion decision issued against him, Despite the numerous attempts made by the authorities over the last six days, the solution was only found through social mediation and tribal
The competent services used a group of chiefs and notables from the Sahrawi tribes, given the link they maintain with the demonstrator. Thanks to a calm dialogue and mutual trust, the leaders were able to gain the trust of the protester and convince him to come down, thus putting an end to this dangerous form of protest
A crane was immediately mobilized to lower the man from the top of the pylon, where he had spent this period in changing weather conditions. He was transferred by ambulance to the hospital to ensure his health, thus concluding this difficult human situation in a safe manner
