EasyJet arrives in Southampton, opens a Manchester – Agadir

The low cost airline easyJet will launch next winter a new seasonal route between Southampton and Geneva, as well as eight others in Great Britain including one linking Manchester to Agadir.

From December 14, 2017 to March 22, 2018, the British budget flight specialist will offer three flights per week between its base in Geneva-Cointrin and Southampton airport, operated by Airbus A320 with 180 seats. Flights will depart Switzerland on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 a.m. (arrival at 8:15 a.m.) and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. (arrival at 5:45 p.m.), with return flights departing Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 a.m. (arrival at 11:40 a.m.) and Sunday at 10:25 a.m. (arrival at 1:05 p.m.). EasyJet will compete directly with Flybe on its first route to Southampton, the 139th airport in its network; it hopes to carry 10,000 passengers on what it calls a road to skiing.

The low cost orange will also offer from the first number of 2017 two weekly rotations between Manchester and Agadir-Al Massira: departures are scheduled for Wednesday at 7:35 a.m. (arrival at 11:35 a.m.) and Saturday at 2:35 p.m. (arrival at 6:35 p.m.), return flights leaving Morocco Wednesday at 12:20 p.m. (arrival at 4:30 p.m.) and Saturday at 7:20 p.m. (arrival at 11:30 p.m.). EasyJet will this time face Thomson Airways andAir Arabia Maroc, which will inaugurate its own line on October 1st; this will be its second route to Agadir after that from London-Gatwick.

The other new features announced yesterday by easyJet concern London-Luton (to Alghero in Sardinia on Tuesdays and Saturdays from November 28, and to Seville on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays from October 29); London-Gatwick (seasonal to Klagenfurt in Austria on Saturdays from December 16); London-Southend (to Malta Thursday and Sunday from October 29); Bristol (to Stockholm by A319 on Monday and Thursday from October 31, and to Athens by A320 on Monday and Friday from November 6); and finally Liverpool with a connection to Venice which will be inaugurated on October 31, with A320 rotations on Tuesday and Saturday.
