Morocco committed to a more efficient development model by 2030

“The theme ‘Horizons 2030: Economic Dynamics’ selected for the 4th edition of the Fez-Meknes Economic Forum scheduled for December 5 to 7 aligns perfectly with the royal vision which guides the development of Morocco towards a prosperous and inclusive future,” indicated Mr. Benabdallah, on the sidelines of the launch of INNOVATHON 2024, a hackathon organized on the eve of this regional forum. Mr. Benabdallah indicated that this edition will focus on four strategic axes for regional development, namely digital, energy, trade and agro-industry. According to him, this will involve increasing the competitiveness of businesses through digital technology, while modernizing public services and promoting digital inclusion. Energy efficiency and renewable energies will be prioritized for an energy transition synonymous with independence and competitiveness. The president of the CCCIS-Fès-Meknes explained that commerce will benefit from a revitalization focused on the integration of new technologies and the enhancement of heritage, in order to revitalize city centers. Finally, innovation and 4.0 technologies will support the performance of agro-industry, a key sector that we wish to modernize and develop through the promotion of local products, he said. “The Forum intends to promote a constructive dialogue between entrepreneurs, political decision-makers, experts and researchers to boost the region’s economic ecosystem,” he underlined. A region which, recalled Mr. Benabdallah, benefits from a thousand-year-old history, a strategic geographical location and a strong potential for innovation. A particular focus will be placed on the 2030 World Cup. “We will organize specific meetings to decipher the challenges and opportunities of this major event,” added Mr. Benabdallah, who anticipates significant positive impacts, particularly in terms of investments, modernization of tourist infrastructure and development of the services sector. The Foundation’s ambition is to position the Forum as an essential platform for forward-looking thinking and collective action. “We constantly adapt our themes and strategic axes to emerging challenges and opportunities,” he explained, reaffirming the objective of stimulating sustainable and inclusive economic dynamics.
