TUI France recently inaugurated its new Marmara Club, the Jardins d’Agadir (formerly Valtour). The ceremony was attended by Pascal de Izaguirre, CEO of the Group, who was accompanied by members of the Board of Directors, in the presence of his partner Atlas Voyages led by Othman Alami. The ceremony was attended by the CEO of the ONMT Abderrafie Zouiten of the Wali of Agadir Mohamed El Yazid Zellou, the president of the RSMD B. Hafidi, the president of the Prefectural Council A. OUmmani, elected officials and local hotel professionals.

In a speech on the occasion, the boss of TUI France recalled that he intended to remain « leader on the French market in the number of club hotels », confirming his intention to open 7 or 8 Marmara Clubs each year. According to him, the Jardins d’Agadir embody « the move upmarket of Marmara to improve customer satisfaction ». Currently classified in 4M it should soon move to 5M, he also specified.

The inauguration of this new establishment coincides with the 50th anniversary of the brand, celebrated on June 5. The CEO of TUI France recalled TUI’s « very strong » attachment to Morocco and confirmed its objective of 150,000 annual customers in the destination.

“The TUI group is the world’s leading tourism group, with a turnover of 20 billion euros,” said the president of TUI France. TUI France is part of this dynamic, it is the 1st tour operator on the French market, but also the 1st French Tour Operator in Morocco, with 46% market share.
Morocco is one of our flagship destinations, we are friends of Morocco, it is a destination that we have always supported , with our Marmara brands but also Nouvelles Frontières and Aventuria, which offer discovery tours and stays on measurement. »

Abderrafie Zouiten, general director of the Moroccan Tourist Office present at this inauguration, spoke of the “trust” which united Morocco to the TUI group. He recalled that the success of the destination is notably the result of an important partnership with French TOs. He also indicated that after strong growth in 2013 of around 7%,  the French market in Morocco was down 4% at the end of May 2015. He indicated that he had « never seen such a succession of tragedies » alluding to the harmful effects of the Quai d’Orsay card then to the succession of attacks which shook Europe and Tunisia at the beginning of the year. But he wants to remain optimistic for the destination which remains “well positioned” compared to the competition, in particular thanks to its “exceptionally rich” heritage.

In Morocco Marmara already has two Marmara Clubs as well as two hotels (the Medina Gardens and a Splashworld) in Marrakech. The opening of a new hotel in Agadir strengthens the destination’s suffering litter capacity, and comes at the right time at a time when hotel establishments are closed or under eternal construction. We can therefore only rejoice at this opening which will further develop the French market for Agadir.

Also rejoice at this opening which concerns an establishment closed in recent years, with a capacity of 750 beds, 50 meters from the beach. Finally, rejoice because it is an investment by TUI France with the sales force and expertise of TUI, the world’s leading TO. The involvement of emitting TOs in the hotel industry is a guarantee of the success of tourism development and its dynamism in the medium and long term. Very good continuation.
