
Employment of women: Ms. Hayar calls for strengthening the gender approach within companies
The private sector is called upon to strengthen the gender approach within companies to further promote the employment of women and their social situation, underlined, Thursday in Casablanca, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family, Ms. Aouatif Hayar. Speaking during a round table organized by the Association for the Development of Social Responsibility of Organizations in Morocco (RSO MAROC) under the theme « Gender approach: what mechanisms and levers of action for inclusive management within the company? », the minister affirmed that the promotion of women’s employment should be based on a global approach, ensuring that the government cooperates with the different sectors concerned to achieve this objective. Morocco, she added, has accomplished several achievements in improving the conditions of women and promoting their rights which are called to be consolidated, in this sense inviting the private sector to facilitate the employment of women through concrete measures, such as the establishment of crèches. And to note that Morocco is continuing its efforts to strengthen equality between the two sexes, women’s rights and their integration into the sustainable development process. Through its various departments and institutions, the government has engaged, according to the minister, in several reforms at the level of public policies, consolidating the gender approach and equality between the sexes in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom. She also cited several major national projects launched in this direction such as the National Initiative for Human Development, the generalization of social protection and the commitment to the 2030 SDGs. For his part, the president of the RSO Maroc association, Mohammed Aziz Derj, indicated that this round table aims to take stock of the challenges faced by women in the labor market in Morocco, to analyze the socio-economic impacts of their participation in the economy and present initiatives aimed at promoting equal opportunities and the inclusion of women in the professional world. Gender equality is not only a question of social justice, but also a lever for performance and innovation for businesses, he continued, noting that by fully integrating women in all sectors of the economy, we are building a more resilient and prosperous Morocco. Promoting equal opportunities and the inclusion of women in the professional world is an essential approach to building a more just and equitable society, he concluded. RSO Morocco was created in 2013 by a group of business leaders, senior executives, teachers and academics, who aim to develop and promote the values of social responsibility of companies and organizations in Morocco.
