END OF YEAR – Take advantage of the end-of-year holidays to treat yourself to a winter getaway full of charm and magic, through 5 hotels that have managed to combine escape, authenticity and magic. From Christmas until New Year’s Eve, we leave room for good humor to celebrate the New Year as it should be.
The Mandarin Oriental Marrakech
To kick off the festivities, the Mandarin Oriental and its restaurants have planned a program as lively as it is sparkling. The chef of the restaurant Mes’Lalla, Salim Ait Ezzine, has concocted a Christmas card made from organic ingredients grown in the vegetable garden of the hotel, all accompanied by innovative cocktails in a warm atmosphere, every evening from December 24 to 27. For New Year’s Eve dinner, guests will have the choice between a Cantonese meal orchestrated by Chef Lau Su Kiean at Ling Ling by Hakkasan, accompanied of signature cocktails meticulously created by an award-winning team of mixologists, punctuated by the sounds of Pathaan, Hakkasan’s resident DJ in London, surrounded by fire eaters and dance performances. Alternatively, they can enjoy a contemporary Moroccan dinner at Mes’Lalla, tasting gourmet dishes from the Moroccan region with a contemporary touch, including foie gras in terrine marinated with Atlas spices, Majhoule dates with candied lemon peel, or even Oualidia langoustine in tomato water jelly with cumin flowers. A program that is both gastronomic and festive and will make your mouth water.
Royal Mansour
To end the year in style, the Royal Mansour was tinged with magic and dreams. On the menu? pleasure of the senses and conviviality around a most magical Christmas decoration. The restaurants La Grande Table and La Grande Table Française are organizing a Christmas dinner on December 24 and 25, under the sign of refinement (scallop tartare with gold oscietra caviar marinated in olive oil and flavored with verbena, endive with Imouzer black truffle or even Christmas log will be there). And for the New Year’s Eve dinner, chef Yannick Alléno has created a high-flying menu composed of dishes that are both daring and surprising: duck foie gras cooked on an artichoke base, just-seared royal shrimp from Agadir, accompanied by butternut squash puree and crispy coral tiles, or even sea bass glazed with lobster coral and pear with fondants linked to butter, grains of caviar oscietra gold… To finally celebrate the twelve strokes of midnight in front of a majestic fir tree in the hotel’s emblematic Patio Bleu, ablaze with the festive atmosphere of the musical groups.
